Saw Saw. Immediately after the movie ended, I was pretty satisfied. The more I thought about it, though, the stupider it became. I’ll go ahead and say it’s worth a matinee movie ticket. For me, I try to watch this type of movie before it comes out on DVD because there’s a really good chance that someone will ruin it for you in those months between releases. Just like how I ruined the end for Junior today.

Computer Organized. I installed Winamp 5, a different WindowsBlinds theme, AppRocket, and changed some icons. Winamp 5 blatantly rips off iTunes, but it’s faster and it just seems more responsive to me so I’m going to stick to it. I also have a skin that matches so that helped. AppRocket is a really good file searching application.

My mp3s and videos are unorganized, so I still have plenty left to do. I was going to reformat but I think I’ll wait it out a little longer. My system is stable, so a few defrags should suffice.

Homework. Those two subjects above are from a post I forgot to finish. Right now I’m supposed to be doing some math homework. It’s due at 630. It’ll be fine. Only two more weeks of class left, then finals week. No classes that week, just death served swiftly.

Thanksgiving. This is a bit late, but Thanksgiving was awesome. We visited our Auntie in Arlington. It’s always good to see the family. It’s better to eat with the family. Of course, you have to go into food coma during Thanksgiving. My food coma was normal, the mud butt wasn’t. That sucked.

Weekend. The rest of the weekend was awesome with everyone back in town. We went bowling, made chicken wings, and played some Halo. Add Thanksgiving and it can’t be beat by much.

Ryan Beat Curt in Chess. Yes, Russ’s little brother Ryan. Good job Curt. Oh he beat Rey also.

Super Size Me

So I’m watching Super Size Me, and for some reason it seems too familiar when Morgan Spurlock is in the picture. It seems like it’s shot from a handheld camcorder. Then I finally put two and two together. I know what he does when he’s tired of eating McDonald’s all day long. He calls his cameraman friend up and they go hunting for a different type of burger. Fur burgers. Look!

Lab

I’m in the computer lab again. It’s full and I’m sure one of the people in line has something more important than me. School work takes precedence over everything else, but I think the guy behind me playing World of Warcraft should get kicked off before me. Man, it sure looks cool.

PBL. One and done. I didn’t get any court action this season, but it was good to be a part of the team. Someday, I’ll be there during a blowout and the crowd will chant for my appearance. Then I’ll look to the other end of the bench and Ben will give me a nod. After replacing Harvey at the point, I will do the unbelievable and blow our forty-point lead in two minutes. Someday.

The last game was intense. Losing by one sucks. We had five seconds after the other team scored. If we scored and they had one second left I think lightning boy would still have enough time to run the court and lay up a game winner. That guy was fast.

Registered. I woke up at six this morning to register for class. The server slows down about three seconds after the registration period starts. I got into the Physics and CSE periods that I wanted. I couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t let me into Speech. All it said was that you can’t repeat the class. Eventually I remembered that my Speech credit from Skagit transferred as the same class. I moved on to Intro to Drawing, but I forgot that I am not a freshman by credits. The period I wanted was for freshman only, then I tried for the sophomore-only period but the daily quota filled up in about ten seconds.

Right now I registered for Classical Greece in case I can’t get into the Art period that I want. It sounds interesting. Hopefully I don’t die from Physics.

Halo 2. All of this can be found on any other site mentioning Halo 2. The game is awesome. We played with eight people at Chris’ house online with three at Eric’s house and another five from separate places. Xbox Live handles everything nicely. I did ok, and our team usually dominated. People without headsets can still hear people with headsets. We were hoping for Junior and Lupe to have a funboy love conversation but it didn’t happen. My live user name is Louie777. I wish I could have my own.

Last night I played online, and it took a pretty long time to get into an optimatch game. I’m sure it’s not a common thing, but I could have made a sandwich, brushed my teeth, and taken a short nap while Live searched for users. It was always worth the wait though.

CSE Program. I have about four hours to finish my program from scratch. Supposedly, it’s pretty easy this week. Either way, I still have my late days to use up. I really need to get cracking on this school stuff.

For the most part, I followed my plan. The time that I set aside was a bit off though. My nap was more along the lines of hibernation, rather than power or cat. I did study, but not for much more than an hour. Around eight I did end up heading out and shooting some pictures down our street. Nothing stood out enough to make for an interesting picture on its own. Most of my pictures ended up out of focus, composed horribly, underexposed, or just plain boring. Then I realized my CF card could only hold 31 RAW files, so I made my way home.

Back at my room, I was pretty disappointed. I was looking forward to my first photo trip out into the world, but it was all pretty lackluster. I decided to go out again, and to walk a little further than a block. Red Square had plenty of interesting things lit nicely. What really helped me is that there weren’t boring street lights. I really want to take a good, long exposure of the brick towers at night. That will have to wait until the moon is full and I have my tripod back. It was nice to take pictures again. Hopefully, I’ll find time to go out during the day and we’ll see how that goes.

The NBA season started, which means fantasy teams begin their battles. Thank you Carmelo for shooting 5 for 25. Keep up the good work. Good job on the boards though. Anyone I’ve talked to about it has said that their TNT doesn’t work. Hopefully it’s just temporary. It doesn’t matter though, refreshing NBA.com is just as exciting–like how reading the back of a dvd case is just as good as watching the movie.

I have a homework-free weekend making its way to the horizon. Tonight, though, I should pound out a few hours of studying for my CSE midterm. Sometime during the weekend it would probably be good to study for my math midterm as well. My comparative literature paper is turned in, though my teacher gave us an extension until Monday. I’m glad to be done writing though. Now I just have to catch up on our current book. In the meantime, I’m waiting to eat lunch with my brother, then I’m probably going to watch a few Scrubs episodes. After that I want to finally go out and take some pictures around the area. I’ll finally update the pictures again. If I manage to go out and do that.

Apple. I’m on a PowerMac G5 at one of the college’s computer lab. I’ve never really used an Apple computer before, so it sure is different. There usually isn’t a line for Macs so I thought it might be a good idea to figure things out. I must say, things sure feel a lot prettier. I’ve heard before of people wanting Windows desktop systems and Apple laptops, and I think I can see why. Everything feels a little less bloated, though that’s probably because I’m at a computer lab and not at home. Anyway, I’m not even thinking about a new system so this probably doesn’t all matter that much. These flat panel displays sure are nice though.

Scrubs. Last weekend, I watched season three of Scrubs. I’m all caught up now. With Friends over, and being the only person in the world that doesn’t watch the O.C., I sure am glad to have another show. I love watching Sports Center, football, and basketball too, which definitely establishes my unprecedented manliness. I can’t believe I missed last night’s Gilmore Girls.

Essay. I haven’t been updating in the past week because of my comparative literature midterm essay. In short, it has tormented and made a black hole of despair out of my life. But I’m finished with it, and I also don’t have math or computer science homework this week. That means that I crawl out of the black hole and party it up this weekend. Party for me usually means to play video games really late into the night.

Halloween. Halloween fell on a Sunday, so the costume parties took place starting Friday. It was interesting on our floor. There was a French maid, a father from 1950, a mermaid, and a male stripper. No, wait, it was a guy dressed up as a female stripper. Visine in its powerful glory could not remove this image forever burned into my retinas. Only time will save me.

Walking on the Ave is especially fun during Halloween season. This is because you can try and guess who is actually in costume and who is just a weirdo. We saw a trio of guys wearing skintight leather suits—gloves and all. Andrew and I thought they got the gay 80s biker costume down pat. Then we overheard their conversation. “Man, are we going to any parties tonight? What about that one you were talking about dude?” “Yah it sounds like it would be pretty cool, it’s too bad we don’t have costumes.”
