Wu Tang – The Heart Gently Weeps. Raekwon, Ghostface, and Method Man verses on top of a beat using The Beatles’ “My Guitar Gently Weeps” sample. And the sample cleared. Here’s a video of RZA explaining the story behind the beat. The song concept is about the depression caused by crack use. He proclaims the Ghostface verse as one of the best he’s heard in 7 years.
Nas – Surviving the Times. It’s been on repeat for me the entire weekend. Oh, and it’s produced by Chris Webber (yep, this one).
Souljah Boy is kind of killing it on the charts right now. Ok, I thought I might be late on this, but I asked a few friends and they were slightly surprised to say the least. So I’m not the last person on earth to find out what Superman means (as in “Superman dat hoe”). How does someone go about figuring out what this term means?
They could go to Yahoo Answers: “I have no idea but im guessing..
’superman that hoe’ means GO FOR IT”. Hmm, they’re not exactly down with it I guess–close but no cigar. It’s urban slang, where in the world could you go for the answer. I know, let’s give Urban Dictionary a shot. Bingo.
