TNT NBA preview. I’m guessing they played this on the first night of NBA on TNT. Gave me goosebumps. I also enjoy those Where Amazing Happens commercials. There are a few fan-made Where Amazing Happens commercials on Youtube. I don’t enjoy those.

Always go on a cheap first date. The most practical post ever. “Women love to celebrate anniversaries. They even like to re-create important dates by doing the same thing again. If the first date with your wife was a $150 dinner, that can be a costly event to re-create when you have 4 kids.”
After watching American Gangster, I read a bunch of reviews basically saying this: It’s good, but not on the level of classic crime movies. Since I really really liked American Gangster, I was thinking this was just a bunch of snooty old critics stuck in their time. Then I realized, hey maybe I should watch one of these “classics” to see what the fuss is about. And I was dead wrong. They’re called classics for a reason. I thought it’d be ruined for me since there are so many pop-culture references. I thought I had a pretty good idea of the plot but I didn’t. Remarkable acting. It’s one of the coolest things that my dad was watching the same movie at about the same age that I am and it’s probably still as good now as it was then. Perfect film.

Came back to Oak Harbor today for Jonard’s daughter’s Christening. Went to the Knights of Columbus hall. Junior was telling Jayme about the hall and I realized that I’ve sort of forgotten how many memories we all have there. We were literally there at least five times a year. And that’s not counting the times we were there for Squires (Knights of Columbus teenage edition) stuff. I gave away ten dollars in a game of poker with the uncles. Well worth it though.
Since everyone in the world is giving their prediction, I’m going to participate—Colts 35, Patriots 31.
My dad hates Gilbert Arenas, which makes me a little sad since I imagine his impression of 0 (arrogant and runs his mouth) represents what a lot of people are thinking. He’s fairly frustrated with the Sonics situation with Oklahoma and a bunch of young players. As a result of this, he’s going back to rooting for his team in the 80s, the Celtics. Mostly because he likes Ray Allen.
I got my hard drive again. It powers on. Things are looking up. It took me a while to realize this, but you can plug all kinds of things into the PS3. The idea I have in mind is that I can fill the My Book with a bunch of movies.
It’s currently national novel writing month. Breaking it down, you need to average a little over 1600 words a day to hit 50,000 words at the end of the month. Maybe next year I’ll try it out. I can only imagine the hot garbage that would spew from my keyboard if I forced myself to add 5 pages a day to a story I haven’t thought through. But hey, that’s the point.
