Just like last week’s Tom Brady post, I’ve scoured the New York Times archive for articles about Eli Manning. Here’s a soft article about Eli being raised as a Manning. Here’s an article preceding the 2003 season highlighting Eli’s Heisman hopes. Here’s a recap of the Ole Miss victory at the Cotton Bowl. Here’s an article about the forced trade, mostly focusing on Philip Rivers (who the media transformed from an arrogant douchebag to an ACL-less warrior within a week, partly at the expense of LDT):

The Giants, with Manning, and the Chargers, with Rivers, believe they just drew aces. It may be a few years before it is clear who pulled the better hand.

Giants are in the Super Bowl so it has to be them for now, right?

I saw this in San Diego at the beginning of August. I’m backtracking and posting reviews of movies I saw in theaters but didn’t get around to writing about. Stardust is similar to Princess Bride, just without Andre the Giant. You know what, I’m gonna be honest, I don’t remember the movie much. I remember being satisfied and happy that we watched it. Good date movie (I’m guessing). Good movie to watch with two other guys (first-hand experience).

Dolph Lundgren’s Wikipedia entry:

“A native of Stockholm, Dolph Lundgren is a graduate of the Royal Institute of Technology. He has a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Sydney (1982), and was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1983 ‚Äì but quit after two weeks to pursue acting.”

I have a sneaking suspicion that some of you already knew all of that. Check out the Wikipedia entry for the Fulbright Program. He’s part of a group that includes the President of Brown University, the Chairman of the Board of Intel, and John Lithgow.

Vader Sessions. Someone took Star Wars scenes and replaced Vader’s voice with James Earl Jones audio clips from other movies. Nearly ten minutes but it’s all good stuff.

LaDainian Tomlinson McFarlane figure. Just like the AFC Championship game! (From Bill Simmons’s links.) Here’s a quote from the Toys ‘R’ Us comments:

I THINK IT’S PERFECT. IF I PUT A RIVERS DOLL NEXT TO IT, WILL IT GET UP AND WALK AWAY?

Ghost girl & car crash. Video of basically the white lady urban legend. Drivers pick up a hitchhiker, they drive down a little, the person says hey drop me off there that’s where the accident happened, I happen to be dead. It’s fake but it gave me the creeps. Enjoy!

Very entertaining. You might have heard that it’s really violent. It’s really violent. Rambo kills more people than the Cloverfield monster. The dialog isn’t great, but I don’t think anyone was expecting that. It easily maxes out a 10/10 on the unintentional comedy scale. People genuinely applauded at the end, just like when we saw Rocky Balboa. Dan called it the anti-Juno, which fits perfectly. Here’s a pretty on-point quote from IMDB:

I COULD WATCH RAMBO ON THE TURRET GUN ALL DAY LONG

Go with your friends, keep your expectations low, and you’ll probably have a good time.
