I arrived a little before noon and there was a line with about a dozen people. Which didn’t seem too bad, except they only sit fifteen. A little eavesdropping revealed that I’d be waiting at least an hour. Except I was the loser by himself that gets to skip ahead when only one spot is open. This is common for roller coaster lines as well. So I only waited forty minutes. And it was good. Cheap oysters still don’t make a cheap meal, but the service lived up to its reputation. Definitely check it out if you’re visiting San Francisco.

$18.50 for crab salad, $18 for 9 oysters, $2.50 for chowder. But I remember the guy saying it was $42.50 total so I don’t know where the other $3.50 came from. Well I guess another $1.00 for bread. Then tax rounded down. + Tip. $50. Not cheap, but it was also a lot of food.

I’d go again, but probably just get the combination salad, which seemed like what everyone else ordered. It has both crab and shrimp, it’s cheaper than the crab-only salad, and it didn’t look like they were scrimping on the amount of crab or shrimp at all.

As for oysters, there’s supposed to be a good fish market in San Jose so I’m going to just try shucking my own hopefully without stabbing through my palm.
